Kings of War 2nd Edition Rules - Free Download

Hello all,

Although ths post isn't specifically art or animation related it links to stuff that I might start posting up soon. It might interest those who enjoyed my Warhammer fan art.

Checking In

Long time no hear??

Haven't made a post in a while. I would like to say that I am still alive and making content however I recently started a new job developing web apps. Therefore most of my spare time has been spent learning Java, Java Script, Angular, Spring and using Linux along with a whole bunch of other stuff. not that this is of concern to anyone but.........

I will try to get some of my older work finished and posted. I'm a bit stalled on the Skaven clan rat as the pole needs to more both hands (one of which isn't linked to the pole are). I cant seem to find a good solution to this so if you have any suggestions for duel wielding weapons in Anime Studio let me know.

Any way let me know if there is any specific content you liked or would like me to do.

Hispanic Ganster Updated - Free Download

Hi All,

I updated the model with a few suggested tweaks. The arms have been revamped (were on a single layer which was a dumb way to do it??). The hands are now switch layers for point, fist and open. Some of the Other smart bone animations have been sorted.

Also drew this Muscle Car as static background art for animations (See PNG downloads page for file).

Wont give anything away to spoil his good work but currently working on a model that will be used in an upcoming video.

I realize I still haven't uploaded the Orc Boss or Mouth as yet but have been bogged down with learning a load of new code and programs (fun times). Hopefully these will be up soon for you to use and critique.

Skaven Clan Rat - Further Smart Bone Rigging

This is just a quick update on the model.

I've improved the tail although I'm sure it could be a lot better any advice let me know. The main work has been done on the cowl and front shoulder when his arms move.

Concepts for Fantasy Races

Hi all,

Been a little while since the last post so thought I'd put up some of the concept sketches for the Orc Fantasy Story I've been working on. Main character Orc (top left, face TBC) is named Moug-Thai dishonoured at birth as his Father was captured as a human slave and Defanged (had his bottom teeth pulled out).

Although the story will be set in a Steam punk style world the additional races will be more fantasy inspired. I particularly like the idea of the Gazelle race as this could be incorporated into a Victoria Safri style story line along with a Lion man race (much like the Khajiit in Elder Scrolls but savannah/plains based). Bottom right is a fat giant/ogre race that will be enlisted into the Orc Army on their campaign of freedom, blood and revenge.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts. You may see some of these styles as Anime Studio Characters in the future.

Give it a try, I still need to upgrade from 9.5 but a lot of the features of 10 sound really useful.

For me specifically multiple layer editing and separate batch rendering. Although the unity import sounds interesting!

Still tweaking the vectors but have finally started the rigging. Just the bones laid out at the moment no points or layer binding done yet.

Once that's done onto smart bones and actions.

Skaven Vector Work Progress

Still Quite a way to go but pleased with how its going so far. Not sure I will cell shade for all (example tail). As this will all be a problem when it comes to rigging and smart bones. I do like the look though.

Hopefully more progress will be made before next weekend when I will be embarking on some new (as yet undefined) projects.

I've used poser in the past and really liked it. Was really quick to render decent looking 3D scenes and animation. There's also loads of good Poser art on Deviant Art.

I've also used Daz studio very breifly which is now free (freemium) but wondering what the benefits of the poser premium are.... Let me know if you have any input.

Skaven Lore Inspiration

Hello,

Whilst I've been working on the Vectors  from my sketches I've been listening to these Lore videos from grey hunter. I've posted the Skaven specific one below but he's going to cover all the armies in anticipation for the much awaited Total War : Warhammer Fantasy game. Hopefully we can trust Creative Assembly to do it justice (or heavily patch it after release??).

Also I have been distracted from the animation (ooppps) by Neverwinter Nights 2 which I never played, enjoying so far though. Hopefully it wont interfere with my productivity.

Skaven?

Really considering a Skaven style warrior for my next little project. It's another tangent from the story I've written but I really want to give it a go. I initially started doing concept art for Gazelle like people which will be a minor race in my own animations and it rekindled the Skaven spark.

Thinking something a long the lines of a Clan rat or maybe Gutter Runner for starters. Not going to go for Grey Sear though maybe in the future. Warp thrower might be cool to make and a good particles test?

Any way just a thought will post some concept stuff up soon.

Improved Orc Mouth Set

Finished a better Orc Mouth Set that I will use as the base set for all the Orc Characters. The Base Mouth Is rigged to allow for easier manipulation but only very simply so I am sticking to switch layers on the characters.

Tested on the War Boss using speech from the Azog the Defiler (White Orc from the Hobbit).

Orc Warboss Talks!

A quick test of the War boss character, Mouth is simple switch and so are eye, Think I will stick with it that way for the time being but will redo the mouth vectors for a more orcish look (Fang tusks!).

Orc Camp Fire Layout and BKG Test

Test of the Fire with some other works. Orks will be cooking, eating and drinking around the campfire after the battle. I think there are several elements I will redo as vectors. Obviously the Orc but also the cooking pot for example. I’m fairly happy leaving the other stuff tents cart skins, as is as its just scene setting. Still not settled on rolling plains?

Found this really good fire flame effect from anime studio tutor. Clever combination of particles and masking. May well be using this or something similar of my own creation in my animations.

Vector Work on the Orc Boss Completed

Now Starting on the Rigging,

Still not 100% about the head but its coming off any way I suppose. Please with the main body which I plan to reuse as the base for standard Orc body Rig for other bit part characters (with subtle changes here and there).

One its rigged I'll get the character and other elements uploaded for download for people to have a play.

Orc Fight Scene - Starting to come together

Hi All,

This is a quick comp of a few background elements and the vector art that is currently in progress. The headless torso will be a fat Orcish boss (who will be rendered headless during the fight).

This is a render of the mouth tests on the sketched background Orcs cheering on for blood.

It will be a little while longer before the vector art is finished but I might post up the background elements (mouth set already available) if they might be of use to anyone else.

Ork Warband

Hello,

 

Thought I'd post up the latest work I've been doing. Below is a collection of Orcs which will be used for background figures. Been having fun with manga studio on my surface pro! 

 

The front three have no mouths so this can be animated (was just going to use a switch layer). The crowd will be watching an Orc fight so I will do simple bone rigs for morphing the images.

 

Once I've got it all a bit more together I'll post up a video and files if anyone wants them.

The Gruffalo Children's Story - Anime Studio

The Gruffalo character from the Children's story.

I built this as part of an animation for my son and nieces/nehews (a story he could be part of). He loved it (but that might just be because he loves the book). Thought I'd share so you can use in personal animation for friends and family.

The bones are a bit basic but wanted it to fit the style of a Children's book. For bodies of the children that I used in my story I just used the character wizard and photos (PNG  cut outs) for their heads. It looked a bit South Park but they didn't seem to mind.

As always please let me know what you think of the rig or any other ways I could improve.

Organised download site taking shape

Hello all,

I have been working on a better way to organise my files for easier searching and listing. To do this I have begun porting everything to my hosted website to give me database functionallity etc.
